Britney Spears has a big announcement, but she’s not announcing it just yet. The singer made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show episode on Friday to announce that an announcement is on the way.
“I actually have a huge announcement to make… My announcement is actually that I have an announcement,” Britney said when Ellen asked why she made a surprise appearance. “I can’t announce the announcement until October 18th.” A video will be posted on Ellen’s YouTube channel that day with all the details.
Though the entire appearance was very vague, fans on social media are speculating that Spears might be releasing a new album. Fans have also been buzzing about a new Las Vegas residency, so there’s a chance that’s what is coming.
Britney also had a reunion with her fellow Mouseketeers star Ryan Gosling, while on the show. The backstage meeting featured Gosling, 37, remembering how long it had been since he saw Spears, 36, his co-star on The All New Mickey Mouse Club that launched in 1993. “Neither one of us can remember, which I think is a sign that it’s been a while,” Gosling told Ellen.
The kids’ show propelled their entertainment careers, and also featured Christina Aguilera, Keri Russell, JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake.
Gosling recalled being blown away by the talent he saw as a 13-year-old when he joined the rebooted Disney club.
“I remember when we first got to the show they had all the kids perform for one another. I remember Christina Aguilera, and Britney performed,” said Gosling. “I remember thinking, ‘Okay, so they’re like freakishly talented’.” “I was used to working with talented people but that was another level,” he added.
