Faith Hill is among the celebrities tapped to perform at a celebration of life for Aretha Franklin. The “Queen of Soul” passed away at the age of 76 on August 16th at her home in Detroit. Faith, along with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Holliday, will celebrate the R&B legend’s life on August 31st at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.
Faith had the honor of recording a duet with Aretha for her 2011 album, A Woman Falling Out of Love, however it never made it onto the project.
Upon hearing news of Aretha’s death, Faith posted a picture of the two together on social media writing, “GLORY, GLORY, GLORY to the ALMIGHTY!!! The choir of angels now have the greatest voice of all time to lead, praise and join in to sing before Jesus. I wanted to share this photo because it shows just how soulful Aretha was without uttering a word. To say I was humbled to be in her presence would be an understatement.”
