Miley Cyrus Recalls Feeling "Sexualized" in Her Youth

Miley Cyrus recalls being sexualized at various stages in her career in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar. "People were so shocked by some of the things that I did,” Miley says of her more raunchy, Bangerz era. “It should be more shocking that when I was 11 or 12, I was put in full hair and makeup, a wig, and told what to wear by a group of mostly older men [on Disney’s Hannah Montana].” Miley goes on to say that while her risqué looks initially made her feel powerful, things shifted when that persona “became something that was expected" of her. “In the beginning, it was kind of like saying, ‘F**k you. Girls should be able to have this freedom or whatever,’” she explains. “But it got to a point where I did feel sexualized.”
