Four months after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against Harvey Weinstein, the Weinstein Company has filed for bankruptcy and ended all legally binding non-disclosure agreements that were used by the disgraced movie mogul to silence his accusers. “No one should be afraid to speak out or coerced to stay quiet,” the Weinstein Company said in a statement. “The Company thanks the courageous individuals who have already come forward. Your voices have inspired a movement for change across the country and around the world.” The statement also said the company “regrets that it cannot undo the damage Harvey Weinstein caused, but hopes that today’s events will mark a new beginning.”
